Hey Dolly,
I think the the faces change in accordance with the moods and emotions of the seer. Here you have given a nice thought to ponder. Lekin naqabon ke peeche jo cherehe badalte hain wo pahchanna mushkil hota hai (the faces that change behind the veil is almost impossible to decipher).

The faces hanging on the nails at my house
never change.
