- Go to Wintertime hunting, in the woods of northern Michigan, is VERY memorable!
I'm prayin' with the deer for your poor eyesight to continue and for your
rifle sight to waver in the cold or something.
Not a hunter here, but had some lovely venison steaks once when a friend got a bow license and sat in a tree for three days. He was huge, the buck, not the friend, he was kinda small come to think of it, but that desert BBQ was too good for words, back in the 80s when I could still eat charming forest and mountain critters.
My African friend said that his dad aimed his Landrover at a huge buck on the road and ruined the whole front end of it, the Rover and the buck, fer sure, but they had meat for weeks. I think that his dad didn't think things out too well.

Re: I'm with you, Guy.
Strat,
The only place that I have learned of, that comes close to year-round 75 degree temps, is a small part of the south-west shoreline, in New Zeeland. Temps never drop below sweater wearing chill, and never above the eighties. That is as close to Heaven, as I can ever dream about. I wonder how much a square foot of that real estate would cost? If I start saving right now, maybe I will be able to afford to buy lust enough land there, to put up a tent, and spend my last year on earth, in it. Timing is EVERYTHING! I should have started saving, last year! If I had, I could have spent TWO YEARS in Heaven! Crap! Now I don't think that I'm even going to bother saving up, to move to New Zeeland. I will never have two dollars to rub together, while Marilyn lives, anyway. Sigh! She is five years younger than me, so she will likely outlive me. Screwed again!

I'm with you, Guy.
It's just too damn cold. I saw a season change once, and it was nothing but trouble. Give me 75 and sunshine all year long.

Cricket,
I have always wondered, if you break both legs, would you have a noticable limp after you got repaired? The same question would apply to your dad. I would be willing to bet that he needed help, dragging his buck out of the woods! Ron White claims that he got a nice deer,..............with his old '58 Buick! Keep on dodgin' those deer. Of course it is hard to avoid hitting those Kamakazi deer, though. They are trying to get you! Revenge of the deer!

when I'm drivin', it's crazy..........I've been lucky and have never hit one. That's the only way I would "hunt", road kill, and that would definitly be an accident. My dad loved to hunt and he had two artificial legs....he still went fishin and huntin and was so proud when he got his 8 point buck.
