Whacky,

I don't trust dented or old cans. What was Bo doing during all the excitement of the stubborn can that didn't want to move?  All our cats and the dog would be right there in the way if I were to find myself in such a situation. LOL I could see Tiff trying to lick my face and the cats would park their bodies right in the way.

You would not believe what a mess several cans of food can make in a hidden cupboard in a deserted home.  Yuk!

Take care Whacky and thank you for all the times you visit me.  Give Bo a doggy treat for me.

I think you'd do well to start looking at the dates on the cans.    I think I wouldn't use anything canned that was more that a year old.

That can was definitely bad...
But what I can't figure out is why its called canning when stuff is put up in jars?  I guess maybe jarring is, well, so jarring.

Whackydotter & Bo.
I read somewhere that folks died in the old days from eating some old canned stuff because the tin cans in those days used to be sealed with lead. Yes, I think your can would have exploded one day luv. Blah

maybe it was jars, the packaging now is almost impossible to open

40 years....is that all? lmao
I don't know if I would have touched it with bare hands, to be perfectly honest.
You're a brave soul!

Whacky
I think in the end it would have imploded! And I remember reading that they found a stash of really old cans from some expedition into either the Arctic or the Antarctic (I don't remember which, and it really doesn't matter, they're both bloody cold, LOL) and found them to be intact, more or less. But they didn't eat any of the stuff in them, for a very good reason - the tins had been sautered with lead..., and a scratch behind the ears for =^..^=
