Re: jfm32
thanks for reading and commenting. Your interpretation is fascinating, as I had worked very hard to give no indication whether I was giving or seeking support in this poem as I thought the ambiguity was more versatile than a definitive stance either way.
I agree that another person should never be held responsible for our wants and needs, they are for us to fulfil ourselves. You will find my poems rarely speak of what I give (although sometimes they refer to what I offer), this is because I am only aware of certain things that the subject of my poetry gains from our association... and she will know better than I if they are what she wants, so it feels somewhat condescending to say "I give you..." in a poem

Love does not recognize distance my dear Lion
it is the one thing that can be felt anywhere and everywhere and can make us feel safe, warm and secure no matter what we are going through if we know we are not alone; beautiful piece as always my friend; many blessings and thanks

I like this one because "the clasp of these hands thru distance" could be the here and now, or thru death. What makes me edgey, is if this is only the here and now, I have to wonder why we would pour the want of our being into/upon someone else. In short, I get thru the poem, you are doing a lot of taking, and I don't see any giving. Just a back stage thought.

By the way sing a tune you know and add your own words to start making music!
