Re: Hmmm. Maybe this conjunction of Venus and Jupiter brought about my
about eternity not caring, it is really how you see it- i see eternity as the footprints you leave behind. irrespective of who stays to watch and who leaves, your mark always remains somewhere in the pattern. by that logic, you don't ever stand the risk of becoming dead. so there is no need to be upset anyway
maybe there is some truth in what i'm saying. maybe that's what the conjunction spoke to you about. maybe that's why there was the smiley. happy new year

and oh! welcome back to life

Hmmm. Maybe this conjunction of Venus and Jupiter brought about my
epiphany? I was depressed during the last decade because I would die, but I recently realized: Why should I get upset about becoming dead for all eternity? Eternity certainly cares nothing about me, anyway.

thankyou very much for your heartening response.
though these attacks were made not just on india, but democracy and humanity at large, your response, as an indian, holds a different meaning altogether - i am sure you know exactly what i am talking about here. things seem to be returning to a semblance of quiet, but you never know
. if you are in India (from your posts, something tells me you are) do be cautious. but at the same time, we cannot allow these mindless outsiders to everything civil, to stop our lives.

naut!

thankyou for your fantastic response

. as for your intention of a lengthy comment, your posts have more than done that. i wanted to share my perspective with people of varying nationalities - and maybe get more people to react to events like this in the world. i think i have been successful to some point. thankyou again, immensely (and this goes out to all my respondents)

and i will be checking out your link - it comes rather well in time

I was touched by the spirit and eloquence of your piece, and meant to write a lengthy comment, especially since some things intersect with my own present concerns. But time pressures prevented me, and I don't think I shall now, other than simply say again that it's a marvellously well written post.
You mentioned in your comment to my Tidbit that you're interested in questions about time. I wrote a series about that not long ago, that you might want to look at. You can find it here: http://www.blogit.com/Blogs/Blog.aspx/Nautikos/524868

Re: This one is aptly put....philosophically to poetry, like someone said
this one is for all of you really- the Mumbai episode did hit me hard and all your comments mean the world, epecially now. so please forgive me if my responses are over laboured.
Hello straightforward. philosophically to poetry... hmmm. i can only take this as a compliment, i guess.
Thankyou, unless this came in error and was not meant for my post at all ( a possibility, i can say, because i found a comment i had left on one bloggers's page, appear on someone else's the next time i logged on
. Really sorry if i am wrong, but i did think that specially of BC-A's comment). if it was actually a comment on my writing, i apologise for over-analysing it
and thank you again, for it
. BC_A, i mean this for you too.
straightfwd, you say you expected a little more - did you mean more in content or expression? i ask this, because a national daily has snapped this piece up and i would like to make a quick improvement if i can do so in time
.

Re:
thankyou for visiting, but am not quite sure how to respond to this

though my friend did see poetry in bits in this piece, i can hardly call it a poem - poetry, i would leave to the experts, as it would require a different level of skill that i can only dream of acquiring one day

. as for philosophy, one cannot escape it at situations like these. many thanks.

This one is aptly put....philosophically to poetry, like someone said
But I expected a little more.....but maybe too much doesn't lend itself to poetic expression?

India is one of the oldest civilizations on earth....
....that has been challenged within and without by factionalism and colonialism, and yet has managed to cast of its shackles and forge ahead, adapting to a changing world while respecting its heritage and contributing to the improvement of man through her legacy of wisdom and enlightenment.
India has unlimited potential with much to share with the world and a successful democracy there can bring it to fruition.
My prayers are with her and you also.
