The compass swings in different directions
like an inconsistent companion,

What a way to think about life! I really enjoyed this piece, sometimes it helps to read someone else's perspective. We all set our own milestones, and I've been getting frustrated lately looking at the benchmarks I set for myself and how far I feel I am from attaining them. Your piece helped me to think that maybe I shouldn't be so hard on myself, we're all really just wandering, and maybe sometimes the milemarkers looked closer than they really were.
