You are right, and I agree with you completely.
What I meant by "meaningful" in this letter, which of course could not be realized just from what is said, is the long drawn out letters where I am focused and put a lot of thought into my feelings, emotions, etc.
That is opposed to the "other" small, assorted emails that I might send through out the day while my mind is usually focused on 10 different things at once.

I have refrained from commenting on these exchanges since I do not know whether the expressions mirror reality or they are just exercises in writing. In each case my comments would be very different.

What is meaningful to the writer, may not be to the reader, and also the other way around. One should not wait to write because they can't think of something "meaningful". Some little insignificant note might be just what the reader needs at a given moment, to lift a tired or injured soul.
