Bless your heart
There is no way you could have known. Just be thankful she had a friend to look after her and be worried and know that something was wrong.  Many blessings.

I wish you deep joy this holiday season.

You’re dead serious and a serious person sincerely.

Re: Somehow the sherrif gets involved with people who have no relatives

Decshak_

our rector is in England.  only sheriff I ever heard of there was the Sheriff of Nottingham, not that there aren't other sheriffs.  I have no idea how England works.

Have little Idea how the U.S. works.

Have even less about how I work.

Now where was I?

Somehow the sherrif gets involved with people who have no relatives
nearby to handle the estate. The Sheriff sends a deputy to dispose of things and property, etc. -- at least in California and New Mexico, that's how it works....

It is a sad thing for sure.

but isn't there a British sit com that fits this situation?  I've seen one over BBC America -- got all sorts of strange things happening

You have nothing to reproach yourself for--

not on the account of this brother and sister who are--or so I believe--continuing on their way together.

Had there been a true need for her to be found sooner, surely someone would have felt the nudge, would have gone into the house sooner, whether you or one of her friends.

WOW!
Sounds like something out of the movies. However, for all of us there is but a step between me and death. I'll anxiously wait to hear how this all plays out. Blessings!
