we've all felt it
Everybody feels pain and everybody experiences betrayal. This poem reflects that in a way not many people have the power to do. If you want my opinion, you're pretty darn close to Emily Dickinson.

Deeply heartfelt!
This piece gave me goosebumps! I've been there many times myself, and know the pain you speak of. True friends forgive our mistakes, overlook our faults, and help us to grow into the best people we can be. I'd rather have only one friend in the world who is like this than a hundred "friends" of any other kind. A wise woman I admire told me many times, "It's quality, not quantity, that counts." Kudos!

A friend in need is a friend indeed, if otherwise, he is a feind indeed.

Sometimes we do have to mourn and walk away from our so called “friends” because they turn out to be merely fair-weather friends or people who just don’t stand behind us when we truly need them.

I might have said, 'pray over the people who let you down'. What a sweet optimism you have tended in this poem!
