Amen to that sentiment Mal
It is due to democratic principles that people with talent and initiative can get elected to the US presidency. I just want him to give us a fair go in the Middle East and the fact that he is an intelligent and clear thinking person, not a puppet, means that hopefully he will read situations more correctly.
Presidents are also only as good in some situations as their advisors and they have to ask for the right information and the right questions too.

I'll join you in hoping for peace in our time.
The latest conflicts in the Gaza strip are one more proof that hate and killing only perpetuate the trouble. You'd think intelligent humans on both sides of the conflict would begin to see the pattern and give peace a try. Peace.
