rector, about your no exotic animals in Britain comment on my blog....
These two Brits had a lion, remember...? At about 2:39 in the video, after they raised him and then let him go into the wild, they returned to see him and he remembered them at that point in the film.

So, Brits had private zoos, etc. and zillions of budgies from other countries as I recall. Your memory is lite on this, no?

What a wonderful post. You must be great fun. I love the bubble and rainbow story and will forever remember it, I think, when I see a rainbow. I also love the comment made about the boiled eggs. LOL. My former pastor, during a childrens sermon, did something with balloons. All the kids and the pastor blew up balloons and then let them fly all over the sanctuary as they deflated (they were not knotted closed). It was hysterical, especially the kids' reactions with the noise and the balloons going everywhere. It was about grace and even though we can't see it it is all around us, or something similar. I thought it was a great sermon.

I have a feeling the children will remember that one.  I am 71 now and when I was nine, our pastor did a special sermon for the children.  He had a hard-boiled egg that he mashed with a hammer on the pulpit and said that was me with sin coming down on me to destroy me.  Then he took another hard-boiled egg and set an empty tin over it which he said was Jesus and when the hammer came down hard it hit the tin with a loud bang and dented it.  You get the gist.  Anyway, 62 years later I can still see him and the mashed egg and the hammer and the tin and understand better what he was trying to say.

That sounds like a great day
doing stuff with kids can be so entertaining (I agree on the ignorance angle, btw... it covers way too much)
