I can definitely understand your point of view. It was a very jarring way to end the poem. I tend to write what I am feeling at the time so there you have it :) Thanks for the comment--kate

Frankly, I did not like the ending
I was dwelling in the meditative underwater, protected from the pressures of the world and peaceful, and then suddenly lurched, swaggering, into the role of boastful conqueror.
