But I think I hurt her feelings, unwillingly of course. And, LOL, no matter what I would have told her later, she would have turned a deaf ear for sure. Maybe spending alot of my formative years (from 4 to 12) with older people made me wise in some ways, short sighted in others. I still can't figure out why I ever thought that she would take such a thing from a twenty year old - maybe if I'd been sixty....

You must be a very courageous lady! I read your poem too, and it struck me as incredibly perceptive for a 20 yearold. I think you step-aunt must have been in awe of you after reading it, and this might explain her wanting to stay on 'small-talk' terms with you; after all what might you have decided to tell her at the age of 30 or 40 or 50?

Wiley, thank you again.
I want to get your book and read about your journey. I wrote down the title from TAPS' post. How do I find it?

For the comments on both posts. It is all inevitable, don't you think? We are sure to hit some rough spots along the way, and that is how we learn. As for aging, we should count ourselves lucky to live the experience. Many don't.

The thing I was most blessed with is my 3 children..
they are all stand-up adults now. This son has alot of my character, so we are very close. He is the one who wasn't so sure I should move back with Bud, but understood just the same...I still tease him that it was because he would have to continue cooking his own meals while I was gone. He's a TERRIBLE cook! LOL!

I sincerely hope so too, Hazel. It's hard to remember, when it isn't going so good, that there is a reason behind it. Sure doesn't soothe your mind while you're in it anyway. But eventually..it works out. The sooner the better!
