Your German Shepard must have been brilliant..at least that's what I see with the wrinkles. As for Bo he must be different in every wonderful way. I love dogs too. . Gotta love that gray...a sign of old age, & oh yeah wisdom too. Hi...back to You Whacky and Bo.

Yes,

I think so... my doggie has a grey chin, but his eyes are still the same ones that stared up at me when he was a puppy!

Whacky
I love your clever headline, Whacky.  We know when Samantha talks to us, and it's just as well as her claws are sharp and long.

why would they wrinkle the only thing they have to worry about is if the spot they want to sleep on isnt taken by another sleeping critter

Cats...
Don't get wrinkes either, they just lose the ability to hit the cat box when they get really old.  The two new cats are either under foot or when you want to pick them up, skittish.

Pitiful and I communicate quite well.  She really does understand either my words or my tone of voice and body language because she is very quick to respond.  Also, she is quite good at communicating her wants to me.   I haven't noticed any wrinkles on her face, but she is getting white in certain spots.

Cute, Whacky!
Actually, we can tell a dogs approximate age from their teeth. I do wish people didn't wrinkle. I'm starting to notice little lines on my face now. Scawwed! Hold me?

Animals have a lot of awareness. My dog used to nibble on my toes to tell me he was hungry. He taught me well!

animals are much smarter than we give them credit for, that's for sure.

Oh yes… I understand what my cat is saying especially when she leaps across the floor to give my ankles a quick bite.  How clever she thinks she is.  Like as if I didn’t see that sneak attack coming – I’m just not quick enough to dodge her.  Then she sits back with this look that says "I'm pissed off with you".

Whacky, Of course my dog talks. He tells me when it's time to get up
time to go to bed, time to eat, time to go to walk, time to eat, time to go to the store and get more food (and please bring back a snack). His loyalty is amazing. I've been told that if I should depart this world They will need to dig two graves. One for me and one for the little guy. Go Bo!

Of course when I am close to an animal I can always talk with them
Even that darling snake, Boo could communicate with me really well.(I still miss her.)
