I know what you mean about country lanes and cars
I experience the same joy, where the passing vehicles help us to display our unity with Mother Earth by coating us with some of the soggier bits
If more religious services started with bacon butties I'd be more tempted to investigate them - sounds like a great idea

Bacon Butties?
What in the world are these? Are they like bangers (which I'm afraid I am not too fond.)

As to your comment about aging congregations, ours is one of those as well. I would like to learn of your Family Service. One local church does very well but they are new, have introduced all kinds of programs and bands, and such. We are a pretty old, traditional Presbyterian church that is trying new things, but it's looking pretty tough.

So now it is Cycling Rector rather than a rocking one. I like that. A rocking chair never did seem quite right for you anyway. (Or was that "rocking" as in unstable? LOL)

How do you do! Thank you for visiting my blog, in that way I found your's, which I think is very interesting and enjoyable.
Noting your problem about an aging congregation, I wonder whether this is not a common one, not just with church communities, but also with secular leisure time organizations. I'm chairwoman for an Esperanto club and our membership is literally dying off. Most of the Esperanto action is on the net these days.
Sincere best wishes from a fellow Brit in exile in Denmark.

Sounds so peaceful and so nice
I could enjoy a ride like that. At least the mud washes off and disappears as if it never happened.
