I can visualise the type of tape you mean, majroj - and it makes sense......but the superglue?? Knowing me, as soon as I did it I would remember that I wasn't allowed to touch my eyes and I would get the most God-awful itchy eyes.

Ah the remedies...
When I get splits, I put Steristrips on them (sterile fiberglass packing tape sorta) during work with frequent changes, then superglue at home.
Careful about scratching your eye after that..
(oh, btw..Cornhusker's is largely glycerine, and Bagbalm is lanolin plus vasoline. SHHHHH...)

Thank you sam444. I'm not sure what cornhuskers oil is, but I'll look out for it - better still, I'll ask the expert....."Ell! Ell!"

Wow! I thought I was suffering. You sound like you are in a bad way BC-A. I just discovered today when I was looking for more band aids that some are made specifically for knuckles and fingertips - I bought them immediately.

Pat
The voice of experience, Pat? It sounds painful, but then I suppose you mean to harden the fingertips up rather than dip them into vinegar when they are bleeding. I'll try it.....later

I still find Canada in winter amazing. In summertime the neighbours have friends down to the river for weekends to go swimming, fishing, boating, water skiing and etc.
In winter they have friends down for the weekend for bonfires on the ice, as well as fishing, skating, hockey etc. It is enchanting to watch the children being taught how to skate. The adults clear the snow if necessary and flood parts to make it smooth so they can have an ice rink. The dogs join in - which Ell says is bad for puppy's limbs.
Last week mother nature used her own Zamboni. Ell and I find ourselves wishing - that we'd been born here - but then what we are seeing is really a generation thingy. Different times, different pastimes.

Trust the Aussies to be pragmatic about things, mneme. As for the stretch marks...well....you know..tmi. I wonder why it's called Maws Supple in the UK? Genteel UK had disappeared before I left in '02.

Great read Mac!
I keep hoping for rain so the cars will get washed.

Not really though...I like it cold and I love the thoughts of people using the river up yonder for all those recreational activities. We cold weather folks do know how to have a good time eh? Sorry about yer fingers....hazard of the cold but hey...maybe you'll start looking like Shania! Wowee!

Hello mac
You are on top form here again, cracked fingers or no ... sensuous snowdrifts.. lovely image. And I used that cream to prevent stretch marks (is that too much information? sorry .. ) only it was called Maws Supple here in the (once genteel) UK. Imagine my pommie shock when I moved to Australia and saw it on the hand cream shelf as 'Udder Cream'.
