GMF, are we releasing the Genie from the bottle?
Whacky,
I don't know if this is true, but I was told that this changeover occured when the rest of the world rejected being made into lab rats, to test for genetic nightmares from ingesting genetically modified corn. In order to find some way to empty all of the corn bins of unwanted, untrusted corn, it became animal food, sweetener, oil, etc. which was quietly slipped into the world's food supply without fanfare. What were we going to do? Just burn it? Yep, that, too! Corn stoves! Now we can all breathe the fumes from that suspicious corn, too! Makes my mouth water for popcorn!

They now have ads in favor of HFCS! But, it may come from GM corn and it has high mercury levels.

That was a big problem for me when my children were still at home because Son #2 was allergic to corn and his allergies bothered him by closing off his airways. I had to cook/prepare everything for him from scratch using products from the health food store or with fresh fruits and veggies. I even had to be careful about meat (like wieners and such). I got so sick of looking at labels. He was also allergic to all grains, all dairy products, cane sugar, etc., etc. I spent an awful lot of time trying to be creative in order to feed him things he could eat.
