I think I just might give up Blogit if I had to go that far to take part.

I find it to be so aggravating when the computer won't co-operate! I look forward to the letters too! Shelly

Letter writing is becoming a lost art.

I look forward to your translation.

Elinjo...
...through much trial and error today, I finally discovered that blogit has changed the way we can copy and paste from word.
Now, we no longer have to "paste." Just "copy" from Word and click on your "Add Entry" and the text box shows up. Then click on the far left clipboard icon above the text area, which will display your text.
Good luck!
P.S. By the way, I've never heard of Esperanto, but, it sounds like a breakthrough in the language barrier.

Re:

Yes, it is and I'm very excited at the prospect. My first night will be in Istanbul, then I'm going to Iznik for 4 days after which I'll return to Istanbul for rest of my stay - in all 10 days. I'm spending the afternoon finding information about the history etc. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/%C4%B0znik#Notable_people

Enjoy your stay in Turkey.

I had penpals, but simply did not last more than a few weeks I suppose. I still have their photographs. What the heck, I have not written or received a letter in years... that is something precious you have there, and rare :)

It was worth the effort of retyping. Such an interesting story. Delighted to hear that you will travel to Istanbul in April. Is it the first time?

I have never heard of the language you speak of..
I remember having pen pals when I was young. I wish I would've kept writing them. wonder what happened to them.
