I have four grandsons in various stages in in different colleges. One of them should graduate soon. It's hard for me to keep up with all of their comings and goings, but I stand behind them and am very proud of them.

if only
Yeah, I'd love to be a fact-checker too. There's so few jobs in journalism -- because of all the free content on the internet, there's no money to pay journalists. Yet another newspaper folded this week, in Colorado. I'm grateful for the job that I have, but I wish I could do something with a newspaper, too!
But everyone has to do what is right for them. If you really can't stand the environment, and you have better options elsewhere, then it's time to go.
Is Ann OK with you posting her story on the Internet where the City Paper might read it?

It sounds as though Ann made a good job of thinking about all the consequences before she dropped out. I hope everything works out well for her.

One must do what makes them comfortable! If the course was not a means to an end then I would bail too! sam

There must be reasons unknown, that would lead her to make such a huge
decision. I'd love to have an internship at a newspaper. I'm sure she's doing what is best for her.

Your posts are always so refreshing to me. There are no "rules" in life....something I have learned more and more as I have grown older. Our goals can be attained in a varitey of ways, down a variety of paths. One must follow their heart. Good for Ann!
