That was just great. Your Mom reminds me a lot of my own... She was a pistol and always managed to have good help around the house... even when financial situations were not ideal... I personally could use a "dinaa cooli" about now
... <<<<looking around den>>>>> Like Naut's study my surroundings seem to be a little messy <<<< a little???
>>> a sea of papers and books but ....I am afraid " dinaa coolis" around here get paid more than I can afford.
I truly enjoyed your post though... thank you for sharing

Re: By
hey naut! howz your tummy?
kannada-cannada? my canadian bro-in-law suffered the initial excitement too. but this is true of non-canadians as well. even north indians, believe it or not. when i've tried to tell others like us here about the language, the first pronounciation of the word is 'canada' followed by the sure-shot glint in the eye. and then i have to quickly stress on the 'n' and u the 'a's and basically prick the balloon
. and no, you certainly wouldn't know where to start with this kannadian!!
try this: kannada- kunnudaa (u as in but). chunna:giri - stay well

Neat domestic snapshot, LOL. Of course,
dinaa cooli have
disappeared from this neck of the woods eons ago, although I could certainly use one when I look at the mess my study is in...and
Kannada sounds an awful lot like Canada to a Canadian, though does probably not refer to anything
I would recognize as a Candian dialect...

Re:
hello TAPS. i can quite understand, as it took me a few weeks to get used it myself. handing away my entire housekeeping to someone else and trusting them with it, was not easy. but now that i'm used to it, why, i am enjoying it. so does my husband

- it is quality time all the way. and in giving employment to ladies from that background, there's a very strong human element there too, actually it is very fulfilling - of course

that comes into place when the employment is long term ... which really, usually is the case. as for cricket, there's always something else to burn the grass down with. on the vacation from blogit, i'm kinda going on another i think- ooopsy

Hi, bythewindowsill.
It's a bit difficult for me to get my head around this post as I've never had a housemaid in my life and no cricket is played around here that I know of. Glad to see you are back after a bit of vacation from Blogit.
