The media have engaged in a despicable campaign of rabble rousing...But it's easy! The average Joe and Jane can understand 'millions of bonus money' readily enough, especially when they're looking at their own meagre pay cheque or welfare cheque. But when you're talking about trillions, and especially about the intricate events that led to their loss, the fog rolls in...

Can't help but think the more patriotic, even more responsible path
would be for the receivers of bonuses whose base pay is over a certain level, to decline the bonuses. Whether they were promised or not, whether they earned them or not, there is something to be said for not taking what you don't truly need, when needs are so much greater elsewhere.

There's plenty of blame to go around...
...on both sides of the table.
I for one, have difficulty sympathizing with the misfortunes of the wealthy, especially when they helped bring their demise upon themselves.
I'm sorry for your girlfriend and her husband, who are obviously unwitting victims of someone else's debacle. I hope they don't suffer any negative repercussions from it.
