A most extraordinary post and touching on my core beliefs. In my honest opinion we all have a soul and when it is neglected it crys out to be acknowledged. Each of us have to bring soul to a conscious level with a committment to learn and face the challenges of today. In his book 'Care of the Soul' Thomas Moore says that the greatest illness of modern times is 'loss of the soul'. I tend to disagree .. it's my thought that many people have yet to discover soul on a conscious level. I thank you for this post and others you have written because they awaken my conciousness and cause me to seek sufficent awareness through learning in most aspects of my life.

Good post on this one:) One can NOT hold the hand of the Lord, while kissing the Devil on the cheek.

I certainly agree that we must exercise restraint and use good commone sense. It takes much more to live an overcoming life than what meets the eye. The Word of God and prayer are two important components of my life. I desire to be all that I can be for the ONE that counts, and to encourage others along the way. If someone has fallen, I want to help them up. Have a good day!

I agree with all the others in that this is your best post so far...its honest, informative, devoid of hate and it seeks internal peace. The process you describe is admirable but I suppose like everything worth while, hard to stick to. ( I know... its my dark side talking...) Like Nitetide I felt sad reading it, perhaps because of imagining the lonely path you have embarked upon can not be easy...or maybe because I know that I would never be able to follow it and some part of me wants to. Aside from everything else , it most be wonderful to arrive at that point of self reliance and be able to enjoy our spiritual light. I practice yoga and fast and meditate sometimes... but like you said, something inside has never allowed me to reach that point of bliss... there is always a distraction, an out of place, intruding thought, an almost imperceptible noice...something that brings me back to my wretched self when I am just about to dump it :-) I admire your will power and envy you, because even if I do not agree with your ideas sometimes, I admit that you are one of the most passionate poeple I know. Excellent write 101

Intriguing....and yet it feels so....alone- lack of a better word. But I suppose that is my "dark" side talking. I don't know what to say except...this somehow made me sad. I know that it was not supposed to do that...but it's more like the sadness that you experience when you know there's truth involved. We humans just hate change so much....

Excellent read.
