kooka_lives - we should never underestimate the ability of the religious
folks in our societies to remain socially backwards.
Especially in terms of social justice and equal rights.

people are prejudiced
and manyremain so.
there are still bad jokes being disseminated about African Americans -- prejudiced minds
a lot of people, as you say, find passages in Holy Writ that support their prejudices.

We'll see it sooner than that, but it will take about 20 years before it is something we no longer really think about. Looking at interracial marriage, that seems to be about the right time frame to get it from being accepted and/or legal to being viewed as out of place.
