These delays go with the territory of flying and I do not get worked up
about them. It doesn't help. As long as I have some money and a ccard in my wallet in case, a phone and a good book it helps. with the kids it is more troublesome but if we didn't fly we would never see our far flung family.

I had that happen to me too.
Several times. Once, in fact, at O'Hare, but then the problem was fear of wind shear, so I bless the pilots and control tower. I personally hate flying, and you can usually see the indents in the armrests where my fingers were. I think I'd prefer to take the train -- it might take longer, but you can get privacy when you need it. And the views can be nice.

Yeah...It's Why I Don't Fly
That kind of occurrence was seen as a "mild annoyance" to your flight. I would've been digging a hole out of the cabin--with my bare knuckles, if need be.

Home again?
Did you finally make it home? Travel sure ain't glamorous! We had to de-plane at Heathrow a couple of months ago, just after we got comfy..if there is such a thing as comfort on planes. We then waited for an extra 7 hours before boarding again. Hope your experience was a bit less stressful. And happy to hear you aren't the lover at the other end of the email getting that bad news!
