Another nice job!
This is how I feel whenever I go out west to the Canyonlands area and look upon the deep canyons that have been there forever. ., while I am but a blip in time. It's quite humbling. . , just the way you feel when you look upon the moon.

very true
and I find it rather comfitting to know that when I am gone there will be barely a ripple, although I hope to have left a trail of little kindnesses and happinesses behind me. Very beautifully written again, dear friend

We are truly insignificant before the power and beauty of nature...your poems are always exquisite. Thanks for the generous comment on my post. Nita.

I love that kind of full moon that stops me in my tracks and
inspires me to think, to remember, to desire...

You made me rush to the window and indeed, there the moon is, fading into dawn. Of course it will be there after we are gone, but my personal comfort are the words, written and expressed by all us writers who will be read by people long after we are gone and when they come upon your poem they will do as I did: rush out and look for the moon.

I disagree, there would be a sad void where your poetry once was. Beautiful work.

Yes and no.
The moon will continue to wax and wane after you and I are gone, agreed. However surely we all make our mark for better or worse on the world and the people we interact with? I love this poem and it is one I'll remember. Thank you for sharing it.

I love this with a tremendous love. I love the perspective of this poem where it places us as the speck and the world as the center. So many of us forget that we are truly insignificant in the face of the world, which is so much bigger than we hope to be. This was a lovely reminder that things will still be the same after we are gone...
