My rage against these monsters that have stolen our government and now rule our lives is beginning to exhaust me. During Vietnam I had a lot more energy, but then again, things took longer to know, at least now we know things are horrible a lot faster.

Cynthia:

As I always point out, the citizens of Missouri elected a dead man (Carnehan) over Ashcroft in the Fall 2000 Gubernatorial race.  Why?  Because a dead man's policies were not only less frightening, but also more human and humane than those of Ashcroft.  I was going to school in Missouri during that election, so was also there when Bush appointed Ashcroft to Attorney General not long after his loss, and I believe a collective shudder ran across the entire state.  This new policy of his, once again issued in the name of safety and freedom (words the man tosses around with so much abandon and oblivion to their true meaning, it fairly boggles the mind), is beyond ridiculous.

It never fails to astonish me just how much the tragedy of 9-11 (and the national fear it inspired) continues to be milked by the administration, and indeed that the American public continues to allow it to be milked.

Here, here!
Thanks for voicing what many of us feel crawling up our spines.  I just don't understand how people who say they love this land can support such creepy, cynical, dead hearted beasts.  I don't think that they'll be going away anytime soon, however.  America is becoming a one party state.  Sad.

Damn Scary...

You know, my friend, it's really good to read some common sense from SOMEBODY tonight...I've been cruising these blogs for a good two hours or so, and the hate and ignorance being ranted by the Republinazis tonight is at an all-time high.

Herr Ashcroft couldn't care less about America. He only cares about how much starch he needs to put in his brown shirt each day before work. His religious bigotry, couched in Christian ethics, is undeniable, and undeniably dangerous. He is a lunatic--much like his brainless boss. And he wants nothing more than to destroy what little remains of our Constitution.

Keep up the good work. And thank you--the crappola out there was starting to get to me.
