Funny what we remember. Important vs sensational, we are sometimes lacking in our priorities. Thank you for the important... Reminder.

A great question to end your entry with. I would say that Michael Jackson will be remembered. As for the London bombing I have my doubts given that sadly it is one of many.

interesting to read what happenend on "this Day" and no I couldn't have
told you one of them. I won't remember this either for although I believe. MJ had enormous talent and I appreciated that he was not a human being to admire or look up to.

I did click on both links, and I got stuck on the second one looking up all kinds of dates.  Things like that grab me and I have trouble getting away from them.

Re: I'm so tired of remembering bombers and atrocious attacks
Thanks Pat! Yes, John Lennon's song is full of beautiful thoughts. Indeed why not? War and violence are senseless. Here's his song too:        http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=okd3hLlvvLw

I'm so tired of remembering bombers and atrocious attacks
on strangers, on large and small acts of jihad, of lurid painful horror. What I'd like is to see is one day of peace, no senseless deaths, no bloody messes. I know it's impossible in this world of fang and claw, but in my mind I'm hearing John Lennon's "Imagine" and thinking why not.

Like the corners of our mind.
I believe that's what the lyrics to the song say. So like those corners in our minds -full of memories - let's remember the fallen. Great post Betty
