Men, UNNECESSARY?
Elinjo,
As it was explained to me, (by a female, of course) women only produce a few hundred eggs, duing their reproductive lifespan, men each produce BILLIONS and BILLIONS of sperm. This explains why we men must pursue and seduce women and they are so choosy, "Eggs are valuable, sperm is cheap and endlessly available!"

Re: Brave new world.
This type of thing certainly raises a lot of ethical issues. On the plus side I understand that they are trying to find out why it is that some men have a low sperm count and in this way they hope to help them. But like lots of other research we worry about it being used for less noble projects.

Scary...in some cases duplicating what happens natually is wrong, especially if it's done for selfish reasons.
Peace Betty, and have yourself and happy and great day too. I'll do my best to catch up on your recent blogs, just took a little time off.
I'm looking forward to reading more of your story in the future.

I had read about scientists claiming they had figured out how to produce sperm a few days back. Bizarre. I don’t think men are an endangered species though – we need them for any number of things….

I've got to question the wisdom of this one.
And human nature being what it is, you can bet at least one of those scientists will test his discovery. Perhaps "The Matrix" isn't so far-fetched after all.

Thank you, Betty!
It is nice to know that there are some -or many women - in the world that still value natural, home-made male sperm. Us men spend a good portion of our lives making the stuff, it doesn't grow on trees, you know. Well, may be it soon will.
