Yes,

for sure there is a lot of power to their purr. I own one of those beasts ( LOL! ) too. She does pester me in more ways then one some mornings. Thanks for sharing the links, so fun and very interesting. Oh and also thank you too for sharing the "Incubus" background info... fascinating.

My resident calico, "Hitler" the world's most evil feline!
Elinjo,
My cat is only evil (to ME) when I rub her belly, especially if I do this with with my foot! My hands are reveared because it is my hands that pet her. During belly rubbing she knows that it is permitted to claw and bite the deity. I fully expect this, and cannot reprimand her for feeling playful, one cannot take the fe-lion out of a cat! Hitler and my dog are very competitive over my attention, and Baby always loves hearing me yell at Hitler for clawing the woodwork or attempting to steal food off an unattended plate. It is at times like this, that Baby chases her and after reinforcing my reprimand, he comes strutting over to me for his due share of praise. When Hitler feels a little froggy, she torments him until he either feels like playing, or angrily snaps where she was until a moment before he tried. It is seldom boring around these two.

Re: Wow they sure are clever. Mr. Graysome doesn't do that to me.
If you get time you could tell the researchers that Mr.Graysome has not caught on to the trick - yet!

Wow they sure are clever. Mr. Graysome doesn't do that to me.
He makes a tiny weeny baby kittencry when he wants something from me. And yes, it works every time.

El
I would say it’s a balanced existence in this household – neither cat nor human ruling over the other. She (the cat) does her own thing, brings home the odd mouse or bird, and I thank her for the gift and toss it into the garbage. And if the food bowl is empty – she simply comes into my office and slides against my legs. Works for me…

Re:
Indeed they are. I admire the way cats seem so regal. When they jump up on your lap, they make you think they're doing you a big favor!

Re: It works! Just watching
Did you send your feedback to the site? They are really interested in knowing about other people's reaction to purring.

You must really miss him; after 18 years he must have been a very important member of the family.

The Rectory cat may have to remain at the Rectory, unless we can get someone to take him over. He mostly lives outside living off the copious wildlife in the Rectory garden, so doesn't need too much attention.

We think we run our household
but out four cats believe it's only because they lets us do so, I'm convinced.

I hate cats and cats hate me! But that's because cat hair gives me asthma and allergies. Loved the pictures of your visitors though! Your blogspot is so nice.
