Thanks Lustor! What a beautiful picture. The Danes often hoist the flag. Whenever somebody celebrates a birthday they decorate the table with flags.

Re: Re: Re:
Not to worry! I'm no expert on U.S. geography. Denmark's just a tiny dot on the world map.

I was in Denmark 43 years ago . June 1966.

I am a fan of old cemeteries, too! The history has to be remarkable! What a quaint neighborhood, indeed! I love it when a home fits its occupants to a tee! Shelly

Re: Re:
now I am showing my ignorance of the world, yes I have been to Solvang many times, its right down the road from Chumash Indian resrvation and there they have a casino, which I love to go to but now its going to be a while before I go again.  But that area is lovely, but hot during the summer.

Re: Elinjo
Yes, you're right it would be fascinating to find out who they all were. Thanks for your kind comments about the pictures.

The pictures are gorgeous and that is wonderful to find an ancient Jewish cemetary right there. It would be fascinating to search down the history of the names etc. Great post luv and I've never been to Denmark but my mother was educated in a private girls school there.

Re: Elinjo
Well one of these days you may decide to head north-east and visit Scandinavia with first stop in Copenhagen. Glad you like my pictures, thank you. I took some more today and will write another blog on this area. Carlsberg beer is very tasty, so be my guest !

I looked up your site - excellent pictures that give me a good impression of the area. I have never been to Copenhagen or even Denmark - when I go to Europe, I usually fly to Amsterdam (one of my favourite cities) and tend to head south from there...The furthest I've been North is Hamburg...

Re: My son lives across from a large cemetery.
I love going for walks in cemeteries too. They are always so green and peaceful.

Troosha and BC-A, hope you visit Copenhagen one of these days. Look me up when you do. Avoid it though from December through to the end March of March because it's so dark, damp and depressing!

Re:
It's in Denmark not the Netherlands.
Solvang is famous here, because we know that its residents nurture Danish culture and traditions. As Solvang is so near to you, have you ever visited it?

very interesting, and the link was interesting also.  I have never been to Netherlands, but we have a place called Solvang about 75 miles from me that is designed like Netherlands, I guess.

My son lives across from a large cemetery.
Neighborhood people take walks through the well-kept roadways, walk their dogs, and it's well landscaped. A resting place of course, and he says these are his favorite neighbors.
