I hate sensationalism. Really sad because there are good true stories to tell.

Re: yesterday's post on trivial journalism.
Thanks Friends for your comments and good wishes. In spite of the recent strains and sorrow the family are coping well. My daughter especially has done a wonderful job and I'm very proud of her.

I don't blame you for being frustrated, but it seems there is a critic in every corner! I like that it promotes equality! I have you and your daughter in my prayers! Shelly

Re: First, good wishes to your family during this tough time.
Thanks Pat for your good wishes. I would like to do that, but having missed the congress I cannot give an eyewitness account. However, I could perhaps do it more generally.

Re: Elinjo: novels in Esperanto.
Dear Troosha, there are not only translations of novels, poems, plays etc, there is also a great deal of original literature. The following page is very informative. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Esperanto_literature

Elinjo

I was surprised to read that one person commented (Tim) that he read novels in Esperanto.  Didn’t realize there novels out there translated into it.

I can understand your frustration; the essential is often clouded over by trivialities. All the best. Nita.

First, good wishes to your family during this tough time.
Secondly, why don't you write an insider's perspective of the conference, maybe 800 words or thereabouts, about your goals? Go to the newspaper of the writer who missed the boat on the subject. You could interview a speaker (or other delegates), do a small sketch of their experiences with Esperanto and why it's interesting and important.

As in anything else in life, one gets out of something what they put into it, and ultimately end up with only expected results.
