Hopefully, he will be distracted by another and leave you alone.
You are so very brave. I once escaped Mexico with my two boys and know how frightening that is. I live close to the border, so I was afraid for quite awhile. But, my family backed me up and that made all the difference. My father told my husband not to come to visit, ever. He finally visited ten years later, with permission and supervision.
I worked two jobs to become independent. It was not easy as I was pregnant at the time. Living with Mom and Dad helped so much, but depression was with me, also.
I'm 60 something now and only have old stories to tell, life is good. I taught English at Berlitz way back then, also and taught it all night in my sleep.
This is a pencil, this is a pen. What is this? The pen is red. The red pen is on the table, the blue pen is under the table. Where is the red pen? all night. I could not sleep for teaching all night. AND day, too.
Stay strong and mostly stay busy as that helps you to have faith and stand up tall. I pray for you and your son.

Welcome, welcome welcome!
Back to Blogit, into your brave new life, into the whole new school thing with your lad... Sounds like you are at the stage of having yanked the rug out from under your own feet, and are still trying to sort out if you're hurt or not... Time will fix most things... it just has to take time to do what it does!
I'm glad you are back home to Blogit.

Lindo
Major changes in your life - a difficult transition, I'm sure, but it sounds like a wise decision.
