It amazes me the number of folks who just leave and quite suddenly are back! I have seen so many go from when I joined! It has to be close to 100! Thank you for your very warm comment regarding me making up my mind what I want to write! There are some I still miss terribly!!!! Shelly

Re: comments in FB 'Retired but rocking on.'
I think my family realize that Gran's keeping her beady eye on them. My problem is that in a way I've only half caught up with modern communication and it irritates me a bit, when half the world knows about their antics before I do. Nose out of joint? Yes probably!

That's a nice thing you are doing. I am actually very lucky - my kids keep tabs on me whether they need to or not, LOL!

The online world has really made us aware of everybody's actions, especially with Twitter and the like.

This is very interesting. I too often wonder what has happened to Blogit friends and miss them when they disappear. And I too catch up on the younger members of the family via Facebook. When they write those shocking (to old farts like me) comments, do they realise the Grandma reads every one?

Re: blogit safety valve. Vogue
Social networking sites like Blogit give us an opportunity for letting off steam....safely.

Thank you. It makes me proud if I can provoke a thought. But I'm quite serious, when I'm feeling down I often resort to blogit, read, not always write but start thinking how small my so called problems are compared to what some bloggers have to got through.

Re: Elinjo Birthrate Europe.
Yes, the birth rate is low. We've not been doing our duty in that respect LOL.

Re: I quit Facebook.
Yes, exactly. I like to get information about my family from my family instead of reading about it in FB. I use FB for Esperanto banner waving and nothing much else.

I certainly commend you for the work you're doing in keeping in touch with the 'old folks'. But better health care is only one reason Denmark's (and the rest of Europe's) population is aging. The other important factor is the low birth rate, which in Denmark's case appears to be relatively high at 1.9, although it was lower over the last few years. In any case, for a population to remain stable you need a birth rate of 2.1 per pertile woman...

When my daughter was going through difficult times I used to check her Facebook page every morning to see if there was any activity. It was my only way of knowing if she was still alive, at home and at her computer, and at least still in contact with some people. So in essence she was a “click” away for me.

Re: Sometimes people disappear and then reappear months later and you
This is it we're real people although generally speaking we only know each other's code names.

I quit Facebook.
I'd much rather talk face to face with my kids, or over the phone, than become just another one of their "friends." Old fogey, I guess...

Sometimes people disappear and then reappear months later and you
find out they had been in an accident...that happened to Corbin and then others with illnesses, like Geruitt. It's sad, but good to know we all think dearly of our Blogit family.

Betty, maybe not such a crazy thought...could very well be reality! Quite often, the only way I can find Ashish is on IM!! Hopefully, you and I will stay in touch even when we're doddering old women!! Belated thanks for the mail; will write soon! Nita.
