Great for you first tolose the weight and now to be shopping so
outside the box. I did some shopping in Australia....in my sister's wardrobe. Have fun and wear your excellent buys with good health.

Hail to the Thrifters!
Our former colleague Gomedome used to go to industrial auctions to fuel his machinery resale and parts business and make tens of thousands of dollars!

Re: Bargain shops
I'm sure I'd hit it off with Marilyn, however in my present  mood I'm being very, very selective. After my first three fantastic bargains I've got to keep my standards up.

Good for your daughter; she must be a brilliant shopper!

One man's trash is another man's treasure.
I saw this slogan painted on a wall today; very appropriate, don't you think? I came home with nothing today, as I did not see a single thing I really wanted. Thanks for your comments, I'll be along to visit your blogs now.

My younger daughter is a genius shopper.
She haunts thrift shops and dresses like a million bucks for practically nothing. She called to tell me a story one day. She was on the bus to work when a guy (who later got off at the methodone clinic) called her a rich bitch and accused her of rubbing poor people's noses in her expensive wardrobe. She's a little bitty woman who grew up with brothers. So I expected her to tell me she'd royally pinned his ears back. But she said she was so flattered at the "rich bitch" comment she just smiled.

Bargain shops
Betty,
You and Marilyn would really hit it off! Marilyn LIVES for "shopping season al fresco!" This is during that time of year, when people set up tables in their garages, front yards, barns, driveways, etc. and heap the tables with broken, worn out, or outgrown stuff, (Crap) and try to find people to buy it. Occasionally, good stuff, (Treasure, NOT crap) can be found, but you gotta go through a lot of crap to find it. Marilyn will buy ANYTHING that she recognizes as being a bargain. She once bought me a SINGLE walkie-talkie! We now have four or five propane furnaces, (we heat with wood!)four vacuum cleaners, several lawn mowers, etc. etc. etc. filling our garage, floor to ceiling. Maybe we ought to keep you two apart, now that I think about it.

I agree. Charity shops and second hand shops are absolutlex fab for finding the smartest outfits at very low prices. I love them too. My biggest find ever was a Chanel suit (couture, no less) for a few 100$ in London. I still have it and will for many years to come.
