If you had found your wallet after you'd phoned everybody, you could have lost it again on purpose.

Fully agree with the waiting & thinking instead of acting in panic mode.....and it was a good move! You are very good at the building of tension in a story!!! I noticed that in your book too.

I have been through that too, although I didn't find my wallet. If I had caught the thief in the act, I would probably be in prison now. The missing money is the least of the trouble but the replacment of verything else is a nightmare. Glad it ended so well and was the source of an entertaining story.

I surely do know that feeling. I'll never forget Madrid and Plaza del Sol when the gypsies picked my pocket book and took my wallet, money, cards, passport, driver's license. Not a very good feeling.

Ah yes - this has awakened memories of agonizing hours spent trying to come to grips with the possibility, no - the
certainty, that all was lost, all these bits of plastic and paper that are the lubricants of our lives, that testify to the world and even to our own selves that, indeed, we
exist...and all that just because I wore a pair of pants that I
never wear, except on this one occasion, and had promptly forgotten about the next day...
