I know exactly what you mean...
I've a school friend for 40 yrs who's like that, and the older he gets, the worse he seems to get...doesn't really get it, and to top it all, he thinks the whole nation / world doesn't get it and he does, go figure...I wrote & posted a short poem "Small-mindedness" here a few months ago...when you get a chance, please read it, you'll probably get a kick out of it :)!
