Life sure takes some twists and turns for people. I am glad V. is alive still and the plans are OK. You are a special friend to help all concerned. Good job!

When I was baptized my godfather yelled at my pastor. He felt that he was getting me too wet. BC-A, Bill’s RJLst

see you will always be needed you can't just retire and say well that's
that and people love respect and trust you too much for you to ever truly retire.

Nigel the curate.re. Mature confirmation.
In Judaism boys are 'confirmed' at 13 (bar mitzvar) and girls a little bit earlier (bat mitza). I have a friend who never had a bat mitza when she was young, so she celebrated her 60th birthday my doing it.
What a very sad business for that young couple.

Re: Taps
How very sad for your daughter-in-law, you and your grandchild.

Of course that reminds me of David and Melissa, my youngest son and his wife. It was a storybook courtship and wedding, a wonderful year of marriage, a second year completely different--One of discovery of cancer, surgery, drawn-out chemo and treatments for him and pregnancy for her. Then he was gone and she was left a 21 year old widow with a tiny baby.
