Re: Questions

In my life there is often a slim line between seeking and doubting.  I'm reminded of an old joke about at little girl who wanted a pony.  Eventually as the story unfurls she is shoveling manure and the punch and when asked "Why?" she explains, "With this much shit there must be a pony."  Doubt would have us stand there, look at the manure and say, "I don't believe God would hide my pony under all of that."

Seeking would pick up the shovel and proclaim, "It's got to be somewhere.  I'm going to look here.  And if I'm wrong, then I'll go look somewhere else, because He promised me a pony."

Pinkweaver, from everything of yours that I have read, I believe God has your pony. Everyplace you seek and don't find is just part of your journey.  Even the best seekers sometimes have doubt.  And the very best doubters continue to seek. If what we seek is consistent with what God promised us in His own words, it will eventually be given.  God is not a liar.

Right now in my own life I am remembering that in the totality of time, my waiting for the promised miracle isn't really taking as long as it feels like to me.  I need to focus on my  shoveling and find a way to do it with joy.

Questions
I have only two questions that have laid heavy on my heart about this very thing. Is there not a point to where we need to seek and seek God to make sure that what we think we hear from Him is really from Him and not from another source leading us down other paths? And then where is the line between seeking and doubting?
