Ha ha YEP...shananigans is the correct word for it! I'm glad I wasn't an only child...the siblings and our adventures are great memories...some good, some bad, but all pretty great. Thank you for reading, calia!

I loved you story! I had a lot of siblings, too, and it reminds me of some of our shananigans

Thanks for the visit, Darson. And about my blog about time, you mentioned in your comment visiting women in their 80's and that I might be right...well, I can tell you this: in Islamic teachings and the Quran, such "quickness" that you mentioned and "time flying by so fast" is a sign of judgement day getting closer.

I guess that you don’t hear family stories like this anymore. Thank you for this change of pace in nostalgia love. BC-A, Bill’s RJLst

You sweetie! We must have a lot in common. That's why I love writing...permanent words on paper/screen, whatever where someone who never knew you can know you and know you well. That's what I want...that connectedness. We are so fortunate that we can do that, don't you think? I love your home, by the way. The perfect place for a cup of tea and a good book or long chat. Thank you for sharing!

Oh my gosh Darson ~ you give the account such Life ~ (here's that altar) --- LOL...I was remembering my sharing of rooms with my (3) sisters and 4th being younger in another room.. byall this...OH gosh but you brought rose to my cheeks with the excitement and thrill of sisterhood and Mamma's sternness yet, quiet, focused love ~ awwwww. This was like a page from one of my chapters in life --- what a blessing. Thank you for this ~ Loved it...(can you tell? LOL)

I sooo appreciate that, abanerjee. I would love to be a novelist of sorts, if only I didn't have such ADD when it comes to writing! I have to do it in increments; blogs seem to work for me. What I REALLY love is that I get to share a tiny part of myself with so many others, and that through the words we are all connecting....and relating... Seems like a tiny miracle, somehow. I have to let you know that I shared your comment with my daughter; it truly made my day. Thank you for such generous praise. Have yourself a lovely day.

Hey...a parental conspirator? NO FAIR! Wow, would that have been convenient...! At any rate, I'm glad for you, there! We kids were on our own....as for the swearing...I say far worse than 'shut up' nowadays. I try to keep my habit out of my blogs...still afraid of getting a swat for it, I suppose...while I use the occasional profanity, my children, miraculously, do not. I guess I'm teaching them through 'reverse psychology'...? Thank you for reading, Shobana. Fun to feel like we're all in this (crazy life) together.

Thank you, my lovely friend!

Our adventures at the homestead were nothing short of hilarious. Our parents were VERY strict; this is where I grew what humor I might have. We turned to levity as our source of relief.... Lillian was my sidekick (or was I her's?) in that department. I so appreciate your comments!

...except for the fact that she never knew I was in on it....tee hee! I still think she thought she may have dreamt it all up...an early 'senior moment' perhaps. Thanks for reading, Kabu, you sweetheart! Hope you're doing well.

Lovely, spot on, Darson.
You Darson, are probably the best story-teller here. There's that natural flow of a novelist. Wish

I could, like you, someday

Darson - We did not really get imprisoned (my sisters and I) but we always managed to get past our mum through our Dad..lol. We too were not allowed to swear while growing up and it has caught up with our present generation! Fancy that!!

that you cared so much that you would rescue little sister.
