Re: shobana, mere dost
It is true, there is no partiality there, that women make the world go with her shakti. Glad you liked it

Re: Darson
Womankind indeed ought to get the utmost respect due to her. I was just saying this to Ely that they are placed between man and God, His first representative in the life-giving ability. Thanks for the praise and your readership I value muchly

Re: Dear ElyTex all the lessons we learn ~
"rents a tear from my morning eyes", such a sweet expression. I knew that this poem would have a deeper, more touching meaning for women, experiencing motherhood being the ultimate joy for them. One can see the satisfaction in their countenance - happy smiles, more innocent-looking; rarely ever seen, in man's face. As for me, women are placed between man and God, a superior species in every sense of the word. Also from all the comments here, women definitely are the first representatives of God and therefore it is a sad state of affairs that they are quite often treated disrespectfully and with cruelty just because of their inferior physical strength. India has traditionally worshipped women power as the symbol of shakti (force, including life-force) in mother's image. So many goddesses no other country has. Sadly, those old values are losing out to man's capricious nature - greed and lust, the dowry system being the greatest undoing of our culture, reducing women to mere objects. The west is today more emancipated. Got me raving, instigated Lol, , with your tender and hearty comment. Aba tips his presented hat
. Thank you also for that most precious pearl

How wonderful his mother must have been for him a male to write such a passionate truthful piece about women, and how in touch was he to his feminine side as well. It would be great if all men could read this poem, for they would read the words of a man who was listening to his heart. Great post. Blessed Be.

What a wonderful summary of womenhood..they are what makes the world go round I think (not being partial here). I have seen and heard of untold sacrifices they make. Though there is a little bit of change, I think to value a woman - there is still a long way to go. Most times they are taken for granted. Thanks abanerjee for this wonderful post and poem.

Wow. I've always thought women could so easily rule the world...there wouldn't be any populating going on without our contribution. None of us would be here if it weren't for a woman. Womankind in general ought to command the utmost respect, if only for the act of giving us life. Great post.

This is such a double edge sword! I would never trade the ability to give birth for I have been rewarded threefold! I know there is disparity in area between the sexes, but I would never trade what I have done and who I am regardless of the situation we humans find ourselves in! I went to the poem and found myself studying it for meaning, content, and structure! It was a fine poem and this wonderful write up on it is a perfect complement! sam

all the lessons we learn ~
Ah Aba, this poem clutches my heart ... rents a tear from my morning eyes. Such passion and sadness just stirs my 'maternal' heart. and from a woman's viewpoint, (my own that is), just 3 simple words:
I love you - from my children conquers any pain or sorrows or misgivings we can and eventually surmount. As far as male dominated --- I must wear rose colored glasses too much because I simply think and from loving thoughts---

that a woman's value is irreplaceable --- and without a woman - 'man' couldn't begin to exist (conception has to be birthed...) thus, domination carries no dominion over me, only begs for understanding... but, I digress ---- I was moved by this whole blog ~ Thank you for this study ~ and now, I've got to get productive from this Texas homestead (gathering pearls ~ )

~ Elyse
