This is one of the funniest stories I've read in a long time. Who would have thought it possible!

I would recommend that if you ever try it out on a chicken, that it be a bird that you own personally....because it could backfire, as we well know....! And if you're easily hypnotized, you're going to have to have someone that you trust exclusively (i.e., Kabu) snap you out of it....'cept don't have her say, "YOU'RE A CHICKEN!"....because this could be confusing to the psyche, and you might start acting afraid of your own shadow...which would not be good....! You might have her use other phrases, such as, "YOU'RE THE BEST HUSBAND IN THE WORLD!" ,etc. I'm sure she'd be more than willing to do this....to bring you back around, if needed...!

Elyse!
I am shaking with laughter!....and your husband knew of this? I've never met anyone (besides Penny, of course) that even knew about the practise. I am curious to know what he knows. The thought that you had an actual conversation about putting the chicken into or taking the chicken out of a trance is hilarious...! Ha ha ha ha ha!

Darson, I have to tell you...tonight after arriving here in Fredericksburg (the hill country) and after we ate, I pulled into this little coffee shop (of course) and as we were walking up the porch there was a pretty 'chicken' - just sitting within the flowerbox on one of the window sills. I thought how odd and I wanted to touch her, she was pretty I tell you. Well, we went inside and the owner told me yes, that was their pet and she was tame and liked people and for certain, pet her, because she loved the attention. So, after we talked for a while I went back out on the porch and this pretty lady chicken had her head stuck in her neck feathers. I thought 'garbage, she's dead' or "dying" --- my husband said, "she's resting"...and I said, "no she's cold"...he said, "come on lets leave her alone". I stopped a minute and thought of you --- I whispered to my husband, 'lets see if we can hypnotize her" --- and thinking he'd never heard that before so I could tell him something he didn't know (I wanted to tell him what Darson told me today) but...He already knew of this. He told me when they were young (and off into this story) --- "well nevermind" I said, "besides she looks like she's already hypnotized" ---- and we walk down to our car and I turn back and say, "you think we ought to go snap her out it..." My husband looked over at me and I think he rolled his eyes, as he pointed to the car..."let's go - he said, " you're tired" ---

....so you agree that it DOES work? Some were skeptical...I sure was, before Penny showed me how to do that. I say again; weirdest thing I ever saw...!

I thought Penny was crazy until she showed me...I'm wondering if I should put a disclaimer on that post, because it REALLY works! It's the weirdest thing you've ever seen. I don't know the science of it, or why it's effective...it just is. Ask the ten dead chickens, they'll tell ya!...if they could...rest their souls...!

Not that I'm doubting your word, but we raised chickens back
in the day. And now that you've explained all this to me all I can think of is darnit, I missed my chance.

A fowl story most foul, poor babies, kiddies and chickies. Have a sister
named Penny and she does similar things.

Elyse!
...When you wrote 'wild animals'...were you referring to my offspring? Because that would be correct....! Yep, the kids suggested the fainting goats, too..the neighbor had one...but after the chicken episode, I flat out said 'no'.... And Penny? I just looooved her. She brought laughter to my day, every day. I can't begin to tell you the hair-brained things she'd come up with. She certainly kept my life exciting for a lot of years. But then they moved. She and Ray got divorced...and that era is over. I'm still missing that time of life; lesson learned...enjoy it while you can. She was precious! So are you!!!

And I love the happy chicken smile faces....clever!

aww poor chickies but, that's what them wild animals will do ~ I am laughing belly hard this morning while reading this. LOL, I truly can't stop. Darson, you by far are the funniest - I mean truly an Erma Bombeck twin. I adore this story --- I've never flattened sandwiches, however am in the wild search for 'flat bread' --- and I've never had chickens, nor any foul --- but always wanted one of those fainting goats but considering my crew at that time, there was no way I'd have them taunting that goat into faint a hundred x hundred times for their humor LOL, no way - I can't believe the chickens get hypnotized like that...wow --- and now with all the stray chickens where I live, I'm going to try this to get them away from the traffic --->

now, considering all those chicken faces and your time with Penny, I'm all smiles ~ xoxo u Elyse
