Work related changes can be so wonderful, especially with the politics you're alluding to. Before you know it it'll be January.

I still have some boxes that I haven't unpacked from the last time I moved five years ago.  I guess I must not need the stuff in them very badly.

It's hard, hard work moving house. The best part though is getting rid of what one considers junk. I hope that the day you move the sun will shine, or that at least it will stay dry. Office politics can ruin the best of jobs!

Last time I moved I had packers in
took them two days to pack up years of my life. One has to if moving overseas, if one wants insurance. Next time I move even if to the same district I will have packers again as it's physicallystraining, and i can use the time not packing effectively. At the unpacking stage we had two ladies come in, who unpacked and set up the kitchen so that it was fully functioning from the first day, so even though there were boxes everywhere else, we could function immediately plus they made me see ways of storing in the kitchen that i never knew before. More efficiently than i knew.

Yes the bonds with long-term colleagues can be strong. I received an invitation for a lunch in London. From the chairman of the group I once worked with. Turns out he is sentimental about a certain era. And, as it turns out, so am I, as I so regret not being able to go. I would enjoy the things you enjoy at your job in these remaining days plus assemble all the details you need going forward.

I can appreciate getting away from office politics, I do not miss it nor think about it! Best wishes as you move forward on the packing! sam

Malcolm, I can understand how you feel...my son is in the same situation now. He wants to quit yahoo--not because of the workplace, that's super, but because he wants to try something new! All the best, and thanks for your visit. Nita.

Glad it's all going well. Nothing like a fresh start to energise you, and not long now!

I sympathize with you.  My job is very hustle-bustle, and there is always more to do than time to do it in.  I love it though, I wouldn't have it any other way :)

Isn't it simply interesting to find your move ahead in retrospect is for the best ~ I like bistro's and coffee shops; the hustle and bustle - not so much but, the food can be truly good.  (I had potato leek soup yesterday from a local bistro - YUM) ~ Your food entries are delightful as well Malcolm.  ~ I'm so glad you're finding an end to the packing.  YAY!!~ Have a productive and joyful day - Elyse
