- Go to Be Not Consumed by Fatalism
Aba I find this rich to ponder on ~ the term egolessness is what I truly hope to achieve. I aspire to reach this. I will have to study more this excellent discourse Aba - as we all have free will - and predestination shares the same vein as determinism or fatalism, by my understanding ~ then I just feel that my free will takes me away from fatalism - by consequence etc. I truly enjoyed this blog here - pondering moreso - but that's good and Aba ~ you write on!!! I tip my pen to you -

I know moon, 'servant', in the sense of the lord's helplessness to the call of a true
bhakta (devotee), and undoubtedly, your spiritual mother earth is Bharat.

The value, wisdom of these teachings, as you rightly say, ash, is in the timelesssness of thier significance, beyond cultural differences, beyond arguments, beyond even time. Take it or leave it, seems to be their attitude. Thus, also the most peaceful. Another beauty in the Upanishads, Puranas I noticed is, that they are like the broadly embracing encyclopedic collections,
apaurusheya, meaning 'unauthored', but truths that emanate in egolessness. Thank you and I'll try whatever best I can.

It is in essence the universal significance that crosses all boundaries of religion; true for all religion, nobody can claim mine, thine. And there lies its appeal. Thanks for the input.

...in a slightly different vein...my own teacher says (my paraphrase) that the shishya binds the lord by his love, commitment, single-pointed devotion...making the lord his servant...the lord has no other choice than to grant the shishya's desires...i agree 100% with ash pradan...although in my own case, it has been liftetimes since having the boon of bharat as my earth mother...instead, i have the great boon of turtle island as birth (earth) mother, bharat as spiritual mother...moon

You bring back some memories of my early schooling...
in India... the Gita, the Puranas, the Mahabharata, the Vedas...it wasn't till later on in my life, especially after decades in the Western world, that I realized how valuable those teachings are...thank you for sharing with everybody...you'll find a very receptive & inquisitive readership here, which makes sharing that wisdom definitely worth the effort, best wishes,
