I confess: I hit the button for 'They' to create a nickname for me--accidently--but then couldn't think up anything better! I am always trying to do more than I have time for... Would that work?
I do hop around in the backyard and do gleep some of those peanuts for myself, but the neighbors are used to it.
It made me feel a bit ashamed that it is so hard to do a simple nice thing for people I love dearly. I also forgave myself and patted myself on the head . . . hedging my bets for whichever way I should feel.
Thanks for the thoughtful as well as amusing comments
May I add a tune? 'ya never know just how you look (or came across) thru other people's eyes' It sure is enlightening and helpful to know, and I heartily thank each of you for taking the time to say.

I never got a real sense of how you felt about completing that task and getting it marked off your list; bit, as I was reading I couldn't help but fell the love as you explained what you were doing. I enjoyed the simplicity, yet it has great candor. Your description being evasive allowed me to see Grandma, and I know she is loved. Very cool on the birds, I could see myself grabbing a cup of coffee and then sit down and enjoy the concert of a sort. sam

Should you do the same?
Hop around the yard munching peanuts and birdseed?
Sure. Go ahead. Who cares what the neighbors think.

It is in the nature of birds, to sing.
Outabreath,
Gotta come up with a nickname for you, one better than "Heavy breather." Anyway, it sounds to me, like you know why the caged bird sings. Good for you, and no, you aren't mad. Perhaps, sometimes angry, but who ain't?
