Elyse!
It makes me grin just reading your re-cap of the adventure...it really was funny...in retrospect....nah, even during the event. Life just IS....funny, I mean! I wish you the very same, Elyse! I can only imagine the warmth and coziness you've got going on over at your place 'cause that's just the type of person you are. Have a lovely, lovely day tomorrow, okay?

This is quite some memories Darson ~ you made me laugh throughout however, with your little addisms like the flap afterwards --- oh gosh ~  and all that scene so graphic with that lady eating the chicken --- ugh --- and then to push herself up by your pregnant tummy - ontop of your baby?  oh - just ignorance I tell ya.  All in all, albeit I'm sorry you had trouble with labor, I'm so thankful you are able to share this with such fun and wittiness and finally, forgiveness into awww...what you want for Christmas.  Darson may you and all of your family have a very Merry Christmas and share much --- Love and everything you want, xoxox  ELyse

There were days I felt 'okay' pregnant, but most of the time it was hard, I agree! Not everyone does it well, but they still do it, thank heaven. Hats off to ALL moms that give life. A very respectable passtime!

Think, I understand, especially so, after reading you. It is preserve reserved exclusively for mothers to experience. And no understanding ever equals experience. Thank you, Darson.

Yes, she'll be able to relate! Having a newborn is such a ....sacred....time in one's life. I remember feeling like I lived in this happy little bubble at home. Like nothing could hurt us, ever, because we had this baby there. All things were soft and gentle. There is nothing else in the world like the glow of a newborn in the home.

Oh, BTW, can I send this to a cousin sister of mine, Darson?. She's just been blessed with a baby girl.

If there's any gift to be given, I'm just grateful. It's funny, abanerjee...I sit there, thinking to myself, do people REALLY want to read about my childbearing years....? Isn't that b-o-r-i-n-g? But if I feel so inclined, I plunk it out, anyway. Some pieces are hits, some are misses, that's just the way it is. It continuously surprises me when some people find my rants amusing or interesting. Honestly. Thank you for the feedback, as always. I'm going to compile some of these and try to turn them into a book, at the start of next year...we'll see how that goes.

This was such a lovely, lovely write! Every single line was amazingly enjoyable ... the liveliness, the twists and turns, the humor of it all, your sense of inclusivity, the learnings from one's own life experiences and, in the end the message ... passed on ... SIMPLY WONDERFUL!!!, coming as a most enchanting gift on the eve of Christmas for your readers. Wish everyone read it. Kudos lady! What more can I say?      (yes, I DO want to say another thing)     I want you to know that I am learning stylish presentation from your writes. Isn't that another gift?

Zap. Zoom. Whish and whoosh...
(that's my magic wand) you no longer care what impression you make on people, because you've discovered that you're okay just as you are, perfectly acceptable, lively and interesting, as of this day, you're the one you've always wanted to be.

Re: magic moon
...yep, guilty, i did say that...and yes, it always comes back magnified...sometimes but, not always, however, as 'stuff'...sometimes it comes back as love, contentment, awakening, freedom, the peace that passeth all understanding...blessings, moon

Wasn't it you, MM, that said that the rich man in the Bible couldn't pass through the 'eye of the needle', because he wouldn't put down his 'stuff'?

I have this theory, and I need to process it in writing...that the more you give away to others, the more you recieve, somehow. I've heard of people trying this, and they've said they couldn't give it away fast enough; it always came back doubled or tripled. In this Wopila thing that I've been learning about, I wonder if this is also the case. But then, when it keeps coming in, you get experienced at sending it back out, to where riches, etc. would do the most good. Isn't that what Oprah's done, and she's one of the (if not THE) wealthiest women in the world....but she just keeps on giving. Amazing to have that sort of opportunity. I think God gives it to her, because He knows she'll just pass it on.

..in the 20 or 30 years since i learned that one is to never ever ever comment on a woman's pregnancy unless one is actually in the delivery room and sees a baby emerging, i have done so maybe twice...when it was really really really really obvious....phew....i was really lucky both times....as for childlike innocence, the enlightened state is described...by those who should know...as an unselfconscious state of 'no mind'....i think that you are on to something here...i sense a book in the offing..."the path of the boorish slob: road to enlightenment"...yep...oprah...book signings...fame, riches, adulation...you yourself will then have to leave enlightenment to another lifetime...moon

...that is SWEET! I don't know if I felt 'pretty', per se...(I'm not one of those glowing women), but I felt good overall, knowing that I was doing something....amazing.
