LLM....She really was. It's funny; all of these women are older, wrinkled (like I'm getting to be!), losing their hearing, their hair, their teeth, etc....but I've never seen more 'beautiful' people, do you know what I mean?

Re: Elyse!
Darson, my darlin' --- I made simple Chateaubriand ~ (we are tired of Turkey) warmed some ham (just in case) and sweet corn casserole with mashed potatoes, sweet potatoes --- and of course, bread - we love just slices of french bread - and yes, lather of (almost butter) - and then pies and cookies and yummy kettle corn popcorn with our coffee later. I don't know - I think I may have to go on a diet after the holidays ----

but, I was so nervous because my daughter was asked by her beau for marriage today - in our front room - on his knee - and my daughter from Washington was on that webcam video chat thingie and my son, in Maine who couldn't get through on his webcam video chat thingie was listening on the phone but I was all blubbery and he couldn't hear it all LOL ~ I tell ya' --- I just don't know what I will do without all this excitement.

but, I am loving the sound of that casserole and it looks like maybe (after left overs tomorrow) that Sunday, yes I would like to try this. Thank you much ~ my darlin' Darson.

Lovely story. And thanks, but I'll have to pass on the casserole...
I've just dropped most of that stuff from my food program hoping to keep my arteries open and my brain working. Thelma sounds like a wonderful person. What a sweet remembrance.

Now my Christmas Eve is perfect because I've heard from my sweet angel friend! What are you making for Christmas? I picture you as quite the cook....I happen to know from all of your pictures that your home is 'picture perfect' for the event...! The sort of place where I'd like to spend gobs of time. Merry Christmas, Sis!

Absolutely, Tzippy...the beach or something like it. Once, when the ExMan was grouchy and wouldn't let us ride the paddle boats at the zoo, we rode home with him, and then I told him the kids and I were going to run an errand....and we drove all the way BACK to the zoo...(two towns away)...to ride those paddle boats. And we had the best time!!!

Ha ha ha...some younger people never do, either! And I believe that, too...what goes around comes around...I've found that to be very, very true. You should make the casserole, MM, it's to die for....er....well, ya might die eating it...it's an artery-hardener, for sure. Merry Christmas!

Wow! That sounds good!! Wow! I was going to ask for that recipe. You're getting very very good with that mind reading thing. (Not enough) people appreciate old people or are nice to old people. When I was young (small country town) I was always very polite to and respected the old people. Later, as I got older, the thought occurred to me that as "what comes around, goes around" or "what goes around, comes around" or whatever or "as you sow, so you reap" or Newton's Third Law or Karma or something then, perhaps, when I got older, the young people would also be polite to me.

....kids have changed....

...well.....truthfully....i do get away with lot more being "older"...they cut me a little more slack...'course that could be 'cause if they don't i can play my "grumpy old man" routine (which comes very naturally to me) and ream their little asses up one side and down the other.

..i kinda actually enjoy doing that...except that later i feel bad for it and i know that THAT will all come back to me too...

...oh well....that was a wonderful heartwarming story...you tell stories very well...a lost art...the art of story-telling...hey, can you tell that i'm "older"...old folks never shut the f*ck up!!!
