Nice! Yes, I can tell this is one person that knows their pasta. I'm with you on the pesto. Love it. Do you make your own?

I'm slightly sick to my stomach! You have told this story so well, I feel stuffed...And spaghetti? Only with a bit of pesto aioli e Parmigiano Reggiano...No sausages...And let's not forget the vino rosso...

Ohhhh, that would be hard...getting burnt out on pizza....however would I live??? Know what you mean with the Christmas decor; our tree's still up, sad to say. I'm going to have the offspring dismantle it tonight during the football game on tv. They do not know this yet, so it will be a special little treat for them...? Congrats on the contest, that's my kind of person! Iron will!

Oh Darson
OOPS, don't know from where this blank appeared . Sorry to have used up so much space, unlike Monika's, who didn't leave any in her tummy.

Oh my - oh my but I feel for her.  Actually while I have been taking down Christmas decorations for going on the 3rd day tomorrow, I'm thinking I don't want to 'do' this again.  I'm too old for this --- what used to take me a few hours now has extended into days and it is time to curb my doings.  and yes, I've won a pizza eating contest before (at 26) and was green and laid down on a gurney (actually worked in the medical center) and thought they would come in and mistake me for a cadaver. LOL --- I like pizza now but didn't for a very long time. ~Happy New Year Darson -  Elyse

I'll tell her! She's pretty amazing. You've never met a sweeter little lady; but she's got an iron will, that's for sure. I admire that completely!

I Know! I just read a weight loss article that suggests that you always leave something on your plate, just to train your brain not to be so grabby about food. It goes against EVERYTHING my parents preached to me, over and over. This is expected of the little girl that sat for HOURS at the dining room table, not being allowed to be excused until she finished EVERY morsel??? I don't think so...!

Happy New Year to you, too! Free spaghetti at my house! (Only kidding) Does anyone even want to eat that, after the story they've just read?

posted by Darson on January 2, 2010 at 4:46 PM | link to this | reply

I don't think I could eat that much. I know I'd be sick.

Darson, you tell a story so WELL! This was great - I could feel my stomach bloating as I read it - and for sure, Kudos to the lady who did it 'cause she could!!

I'd have taken half the original serving, and often do that.
Restaurants give you portions that are far too large, but I can't get past those childhood days and Mama's "waste not, want not" philosophy... We could use more folks with Monica's attitude. You're right.
