Well, I must say you are far ahead of me! I like personal symbols on the tree, too! I put a pickle on every year that is hidden and the one who finds it gets a special treat! sam/Shelly

what a special treasure you are....you just turned something of a chore
pulling down all the Christmas ...you just turned it into a time of wonderment and just as precious as decorating was before Christmas began.

we have not taken ours down yet, In Spain we celebrate the coming of the kings today and once that is over it is put away time. This is such a long holiday. New year is very positive though. Lots of love. Lauren

Wonderful I did the same thing today packed up all the ornaments of memories stored in a safe place till a next Christmas has come upon us.Our memories are the best as we get older as reminders of where we have been and tucken away in our Hearts to enjoy always. Except I didn't realize you are supposed to take the decorations down.

It is a pensive and poignant time when we take down the festive regal and warm decorations of the Christmas season. I just finished and I am glad (as it took 4 days) but, I really had a feeling of nostalgia and sentimentality and sadness even come over me from time to time. Your sailboat sounds so lovely --- so poetic. This touched my heart Merkie ~ Elyse

Merkie - this is very moving

Just like you I still have some ornaments that I have kept for more than twenty five years. They are all such little ornaments, but each one has its own story to tell.
