LOL! I was lucky, I never took Driver Ed. My Dad taught me when I was 14, and by the time I got my license at 16, I was more or less a seasoned driver, because Dad let me drive when I was in the car with him...My only problem is that I have a very heavy right foot. I can't help it, I was born that way...

Lol Darson...I knew he was German the moment you described his red-facedness and foul temper! I'm not a red-head, but when I get really angry, my face goes the same exact colour!

YOU CAN DO IT! Keep us posted, will you? That would be an interesting experience to write about. My cousin in NY has her license, but never uses it. I think she's in her early 30's. Why drive when you can use the subway? I wouldn't make it driving there, anyway. Yikes...!

Yes, I DID, didn't I! Although the kids ask "Where did YOU take driver's Ed?" almost weekly. I get the feeling that's NOT a compliment.....

Adnohr! Hellooooo! Yes, the pothole 'run' as you've coined it was rather...er....painful. But God was smiling down on me to have had a different instructor for that day. The interesting thing is that that guy was really actually quite a large jerk in everyday life...but for some reason that day, he cut me a break. Very out of character. I lucked out, to be sure.

Hey, you! How old were you when you got your license? Was that an ordeal? Do tell! Let me know it's not just me that struggles somewhat with nearly EVERY facet of life! At least I can laugh about it, I guess that's a good thing....?

---Your nickname is really funny. Sorry if it's true...! Yeah, we took driver's ed. in the wee hours of the morning, too. That may have been part of the problem. While I AM a morning person, and am sunny and pretty happy during that time....I am not all there till about ten a.m. And d.e. class was waaay before that. You crack me up with the analyzing...did you come up with anything new?

Ha ha...nope my driving career did not look promising. In the past, I've considered jobs that involved a lot of driving, and then talked myself out of it, knowing that there is not a natural talent there. I am, however, very good at parking at the grocery store. I can wedge that car into the smallest of spaces. Perhaps I could work for a valet service....

Humor IS the great diffuser, after all....no doubt about it, he used it for his mental health. I would not want that job. My kids gripe, as it is, when I reach for the side bar when they're turning a corner. They make me pretty nervous.

They did not have driver's ed when I was growing up. I did have a bit of trouble with the driving test for being able to drive legally. My home was a lot like yours, we drove just because we needed to begining about 10 or so. LOLL You make the simplest things such fun in your writing.

I hated driver's ed.
However, it was due more to the time of day than the instructor. At my school, driver's ed was before regular classes started. As a result, I chose to stop attending. Hmm, that may have started a pattern in my life. I might have to analyze that.

not a good start for driving career
you did really well under the circumstances. I think any 14 year old would have frozen with that kind of treatment. You must be stronger than you think.

Backing up was my downfall. Kinda still is.
Our old driver's ed instructor used to tell stupid jokes. Maybe to alleviate his tension.
