I believe that they still exist. I've met a few of them, myself. It's fabulous to be in the presence of one. They practically glow.

Y The good guys were in literature, film of the 30s and 40s, television in the 50s, and hopefully still in real life love. BC-A, Bill’s RLJst

...about time you guys got some props, eh? Well we're like some others...we think those positive thoughts a lot of the time, but forget to verbalize them. If guys only knew what watching them hold a door open for a lady (young, old or infirm) does for a female observer. The Good Guys have my ultimate respect...carry on...! Happy Valentine's Day to you, too, abanerjee. I hope it's a great one.

Elyse!
This is only a partial list...and Husband does some of it...but I've known men that do some of the other things I've listed (spouses of friends, brother in laws, etc, adopted dads, etc). ANY of these things are exceptional. I don't think we recognize this enough publicly. While I am righteously opposed to 'jerks', there is something to be said for looking for the good amongst the normal or even occasional bad behavior. They look the other way for us, sometimes, too, thank goodness....! It's a conglomerate list of those things that make me want to stand up and cheer. Goooo Good Guys!

I concur - and I simply praise this blog - and I've printed it off so my husband can look it over and get with it as far as turning up that heat when I'm cold - (he tells me to put on a sweater and socks)

and he does eat seconds - but refuses to take over any cooking rights. He's fine eating mine. LOL ~ THis was absolutely dear and wonderful Darson...May you have a wonderful St. Valentine's Day (weekend) full of Love - Elyse

Oh, I do!!! They are what makes the world go round. Not perfect men, mind you...there is no such thing as the perfect man or woman....just a good one. They're trying; and it's obvious. Like I said, God bless them.

Yeah, I'm a sucker for a guy that cooks. Husband's lemon pepper chicken with worcestershire is to die for. One of the many things that attracted me.

There are quite a few of them out there. My favorite is the one who cooks. Congrats to her for finding her good guy.

Did they get swarmed??? Ha ha ha. I love that phrase "But I'm not bitter...." Either I didn't see those good guys before or they seriously moved this direction, not sure which. Probably the problem was that I was only sending out vibes for 'bad' guys. It seemed that for decades I was a Jerk Magnet. If there was one within a ten mile radius, I'd get to meet them. Not good. Glad that phase is over.

Dynamic last two posts, Darson!! I'm wondering if you live in my neck of the woods. I can think of a few families here, and good guys too, who would fit perfectly with your descriptions. A wonderful thing comes from your writing - you make the reader feel warm and smiley..and proclaim for all that there IS 'postivie love' around us. Bravo!

Well, not to sound bitter or anything...
but all those guys must have moved to your neck of the woods. Don't see much of that around here, although I did see a couple guys with big balloon hearts and bunches of flowers heading through the market yesterday.
